YWCA Spokane is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, standing up for social justice, helping families, strengthening communities, and promoting peace, justice, dignity, and freedom for all. We empower women, families, and communities through a combination of prevention, education, outreach, and response work.

Each year, we serves women, men, children, and families who are impacted by intimate partner domestic violence, homelessness, and unemployment through our free, trauma-informed, confidential programs and services.

The population we serve is overwhelmingly low income and disproportionately affected by health issues such as COVID-19. Women, women of color, LGBTQ+ survivors and other marginalized populations experience disproportionate incidents of intimate partner and gender-based violence, and increased barriers in seeking help.

With the oversight of our Racial and Social Justice Learning Community, which is comprised of agency leaders, programmatic staff, board members, and community volunteers, we partner with community organizations leading equity and inclusion work to facilitate ongoing assessments and training opportunities for staff in support of culturally competent services.
