Ben Stuckart is a Spokane native and currently serves as the Spokane City Council President. He is a graduate of both Lewis and Clark High School and Gonzaga University. After time living in Oakland, Calif. and Madison, Wis., he returned to Spokane in 2001 to be closer to his family. Upon his return, Stuckart managed a three-state region for TicketsWest. In 2007, he started Communities in Schools of Spokane County, a collaborative non-profit that provides school supplies, afterschool programs, and counseling to thousands of Spokane students. After discovering an array of bureaucratic problems standing in the way of student progress, he successfully ran for President of the Spokane City Council, a position he has held since 2012. As Council President, Stuckart’s proudest achievement has been to lead the revitalization of the East Sprague area, leading to transformational private investment and new businesses to create a better community.
