Who We Are

YWCA Spokane is a human services nonprofit dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. We work where we’re needed most—supporting those experiencing the greatest barriers to safety, stability, and opportunity.

Every year, we provide free, confidential, trauma-informed services to more than 14,000 individuals throughout the Spokane region. Our work centers on the intersections of gender-based violence, racial and social injustice, poverty, and trauma, with an unwavering focus on building a more equitable and peaceful community for all.

What We Do

We Respond, Educate, and Advocate through a wide range of interconnected services and community-centered initiatives.

Support Survivors of Intimate Partner Domestic Violence

• 4,498 24hr helpline calls in 2024

• 993 in-person and virtual support advocacy clients

• 5,070 shelter night stays for nearly 200 survivors and children

• 1,001 families assisted with safe housing

• 6641 legal service connections

• 774 survivors received legal support in civil cases

Mental Health & Healing Support

• 2,078 therapy sessions provided to over 220 individuals

• 76% experienced a significant decrease in PTSD symptoms

• 1,117 support group sessions offered in-person and online

Empower Through the Women’s Opportunity Center

• Resume help, job coaching, goal-setting, and restorative classes

• 828 computer lab visits

• 2,128 hours of free classes and community groups

Early Childhood Education & Family Support

• 695 children received free preschool/drop-in care

• 555 caregivers supported with individualized services

• Helping break intergenerational cycles of trauma

Promote Healthy Relationships & Prevent Violence

• Transformations Camp and Self-Care Summit for youth

• 266 students reached through group sessions

• Empowering the next generation through prevention education

Community Engagement & Advocacy

We believe that change happens when the community walks alongside us. YWCA Spokane is a trusted voice in legislative advocacy, education, and racial justice work.

• 4,515 people engaged through tabling, events, and outreach

• 1,080 individuals educated through free trainings

• Advocacy focus: Racial & Social Justice, Economic Security, Healthcare, Safety from Violence, and Voting Rights

Our legislative priorities center the lived experiences of those we serve and aim to create equitable systems for all.
